General Membership Meeting September 2014

 

The meeting was called to order by Commander Jereme Ekiert at 7:00PM, Thursday,  September 25, 2014 at 8551 W Gage Blvd., Kennewick, WA 99336.

 

Adjutant Bruce Rick is in attendance at the Time of Remembrance meeting. Finance Officer David Mitchell acting as Adjutant.

 

5 Legionnaires were present, constituting 17% of current membership. Also present were 9 Auxiliary members, 5 Sons of the American Legion, and one guest Legionnaire from Benton City Post 115.

 

Motion to accept minutes of last meeting as posted to the Post website. Second. Carried.

 

Finance reports for Legion, Auxiliary & Guardians of Freedom were given.

 

Finance Report – We have $3261 in the Legion bank account. Auxiliary account balance $45. Included in the Legion bank account are Flag fund $18, Insurance fund $130, SAL fund $15. $300 was written for So Gifted Events to close all concert proceeds. Check written to Department for $308 for memberships. Wrote a check for $2,000 for ToR. Wrote $100 for Gift certificate to raffle, netted $144. GoF account has $838.00

 

Best to do membership renewals online, if possible. Reduces paperwork.

 

Motion to approve the finance report. Second. Carried.

 

ToR report presented by Joanne Rick. We donated $2,000. The motorcycle escort raised another $450 on the Sunday escort. Shirley is still short out of her own pocket for the event.

Motion – Guardians of Freedom to use up to but not exceed $400.00 to purchase inventory, sweatshirts & tee-shirts.. Second. Discussion $8383 account balance. Carried.

 

Hubbells' granddaughter is going to Navy boot camp at Great Lakes. She is an auxiliary member. There will be a “anchors aweigh” party for her at 9316 Majesta Ln, Pasco, WA Saturday, 27 September 2014, 4-7pm.

 

Discussion about Auxiliary dissatisfaction with dues and the amount that go to Department and National.

 

Discussion about fund raising ideas and their potential.
